Caedmon Ward
Junior Caedmon Ward is a second year writer for the NCHS Phoenix. He joined last year aspiring to become a better writer, and now finds himself writing again. He enjoys being creative in any form he can. Whether it be writing, drawing, or coding, he always attempts different ways to express his creativity. He loves to write and research about the brain and how it works in relation to the world. While the Phoenix isn’t always the place for that subject of writing, he hopes in the future he can write and study more effectively. He hopes to go into psychology in the future and study methods to help people who suffer from psychological complications.
Collin Pence
Sophomore Collin Pence joined the Phoenix staff this year. After high school he wants to pursue a career in education, teaching math at a college institution. Some of his hobbies include playing guitar, drawing, and organizing. Pence thinks that everybody has his or her own story. Pence enjoys hearing the stories of students who may not have a place to express themselves. Students often have a lot to say but may not have the opportunity to express themselves, and Pence thinks that giving them a way to be heard is very important. Pence wants to write about current events and new opportunities at New Castle High School. After high school he wants to pursue a career in education, teaching math at a college institution.
Nolan Bailey
Nolan Bailey is a freshman who has his eyes set on the world of information. Helping others stay up-to-date and well-informed is his goal. Most stories of his focus on the well-being of his classmates and teachers, and to hopefully raise awareness to benefit his peers. Nolan has his heart in the right place, showing empathy and passion to others and their work. Even with his biases, and his attempt to see things through an optimistic lens, he will push aside his opinions to make sure that the truth is told. Only needing a gentle push in the right direction, he will try and enjoy Phoenix.
