Environmental Science is a very important study for our earth. This specific type of science studies the physical/biological characteristics of our environment.

Environmental Science is studied everywhere, so if you are interested in changing the environment then I recommend Environmental Science! New Castle high school happens to have an Environmental Science class taught by Diana Bowman. Mrs.Bowman has been teaching this subject for over 25 years!

Bowman is going to an open event at Ball state University; she is going to give a speech to all the students and educators at the event. “The actual speech is going to be a chance to help coach students on their presentation and communication skills.  Being in front of an audience and giving a presentation is very scary for young people and my hope and role in this event is to give my students confidence to do a great job and overcome their initial fears of speaking to a large audience about the environment,” said Bowman.  Bowman is also going to bring her Environmental Science class.

“When I was a little girl my grandma used to take me on long hikes in the woods at Versailles State Park.  She showed me so many cool things and taught me all about the river, fossils, trees, rocks and a million other things.  We would take camping trips here over and over again and they were some of the best times of my life.  My grandma gave me a gift of a love for the natural world around me and now I am happy to give that same gift to as many students as I can by being their teacher,”said Bowman. Bowman explains how she was inspired to start teaching environmental Science.

“Students looking for careers in environmental science are going to have a very wide range in their interests and skills.  Careers in environmental science span from forest firefighters, foresters, lumber industry, stream scientists, park rangers, meteorologists, construction company owners, farmers, wildlife biologists, fisheries, environmental lawyers, housing authority leaders, and many many other jobs under the sun,” says Bowman.

Bowman has done nothing but great things for this Science community; she focuses on the future and what she can do to help.
