Junior Alainey Moffitt is a cheerleader for New Castle High School. Moffitt and the cheer team placed third at state this year and were runner ups last year. Moffitt has been cheering for three years. She is a base for the cheer team. The bases job is to hold the flyer or top girl in the air during the stunt. Cheer leading helps sports teams keep motivated and cheer them on towards victory. One of her best achievements during cheer is placing at state all three years she’s been doing cheer. Moffitt says, “Cheer leading has taught me many life lessons and has brought me closer to many friends.”

Cheer has improved many life skills and has been fun for Alainey. When Moffitt is not cheer leading she hangs out with friends and family which is quite fun. Cheer is a big priority to Moffitt so she tries to balance time between cheer, homework, sleep, and school. The cheer team has helped Moffitt stay motivated by being close to her and being positive to her. Moffitt got started with cheer by starting in middle school and having a background of gymnastics.
