What does it mean to give back? Giving back simply means helping someone who is less fortunate than you are. Now giving back includes many different things whether it is volunteering at a soup kitchen, giving up old toys or clothes that you no longer use or no longer fit, or even as simple as just donating a can or two to a food drive. A lot of the time people think giving back means just giving money to people who don’t have much when that isn’t necessarily the case.

89.6% percent of New Castle High School students are willing to give back to the community and help in any way they can while 10.4% of students said they wanted to think about it. Not everyone, however, knows how easy it is to give back. 81.3% of NCHS students give back to the community on their own time. That’s way over half while getting nothing in return.
