Junior Klayton Flynn is in theater and has recently played as Mike Teevee in Willy Wonka the musical. Flynn says that he enjoyed the good-hearted cast and silliness of the show. He would say the school musical concluded in a great manner. Something that Flynn says is that he can always improve his acting ability with not only more experience, but by exercising different emotions through his eyes. His vocals can be improved with more technique now that he can return to attending vocal lessons. Flynn says he will be auditioning for Stanley Yelnats from Holes the play. The school’s upcoming spring play. Flynn has many favorite memories but his favorites that were made in theater was killing Sweeney Todd while understudying as Tobias Ragg, or experiencing Laurie’s character arc after confessing his love to Jo and being shot down .
Junior, Lydia Kivett
Athletic Activity: Swim
Junior Lydia Kivett is an athlete that plays a few sports like swimming, shot put, discus, and Dynamiques, and she was in the Willy Wonka musical this year. Swimming is a sport with many different types of individual events like freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. There are other events such as relay events and open water swimming events. Kivett says that her seasons have been great for all her different activities. Kivett says that she can immediately improve her 50 free swimming which is the shortest competitive race that is 50 meters. Kivett’s goals for this season is to be able to swim the fastest she has ever swam before, strengthen her shoulder, and make it to finals at sectionals. Kivett says that her favorite memory from the swim team last year was when I made it to finals with a hurt shoulder. Kivett also says that her other favorite memory from the musical was doing the boys’ makeup and seeing their reactions.
